About me

Hanh Nguyen Le

Hi there, I’m a space policy analyst and researcher based in the Washington, D.C. metro area. My areas of interest include space sustainability, diplomacy, commercial space, and national security space launch.

I’m currently working as a Technology Commercialization Engineer, supporting NASA STMD Technology Transfer Office (through BryceTech). Previously, I was a Space Market Analyst at BryceTech, where I work with clients and deliver space-related solutions for mission success. BryceTech offers clients proprietary, research-based models that enable evidence-based decision making.

I recently completed my MPA at the London School of Economics (LSE), where I was able to study and apply environmental economics and public policy ideas to issues in the space industry. I wrote my policy paper on using economic instruments as incentives for debris mitigation. During my time at the LSE, I assessed the applicability of topics such as the tragedy of the commons, common pool resource management, public management strategies and emissions trading schemes for the space industry.

During graduate school, I also interned at Astroscale U.S.’ policy team. I researched a variety of policy issues related to space sustainability and applied my environmental economics training to think about incentives for space debris mitigation.

Previously, I worked at the Space Foundation in the Government Affairs Associate position, advocating for emerging space issues and engaging with Congressional and govt. agencies. I also coordinated webinars, started a space policy bi-weekly newsletter and the Start Here For Space series, and wrote policy reviews and white papers. I was able to gain legislative analysis and strategic government engagement skills.

Prior to joining the Space Foundation, I interned on United Launch Alliance’s Government Affairs team and in the U.S. House of Representatives, at the Democratic Leader’s office.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS) in Science, Technology & International Affairs (STIA) at Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service. From my undergraduate training, I’m also interested in science diplomacy and national security topics.
